Overview:
Angela Kong, PhD, MPH, RDN, is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes, and Policy. Her multidisciplinary training encompasses the areas of nutrition, public health, health behaviors, and implementation science. She has extensive experience in testing lifestyle-based interventions promoting healthful eating and activity in various settings (e.g. childcare centers, clinics) and with diverse populations (e.g. low-income populations, racial and ethnic minorities, preschool-age children, and older adults).
Her research focuses on three main areas: 1) Identifying contextual factors related to health-related outcomes in underserved populations, 2) Refining instruments for use in these populations, 3) Translating evidence-based health promotion strategies/interventions in underserved communities to promote health equity.
